F, #557, b. 1 July 1762
Mercy Ballard was born on Thursday, 1 July 1762 at Sunderland, Franklin Co., Massachusetts, USA. She and
Eliphalet Hale, son of
John Hale and
Priscilla Peabody, were married on Thursday, 28 July 1785 at Sunderland, Franklin Co., Massachusetts, USA.
She witnessed the baptism of
Alfred Hale Barrett on 21 November 1807 at St. James Church, the Town of York, Home District, Upper Canada. She was entered as Mary Hale.
She and
James Woodward were married by
Reverend George O'Kill Stuart on Thursday, 2 March 1809 at St. James Church, the Town of York, Home District, Upper Canada. By License. He is recorded as being from the Twp. of Toronto and she is stated as a widow, of the town of York. She was living in 1813 at the Town of York, Home District, Upper Canada. Her household is listed thus: 1 female over 16, 1 female under 16, for a total of 2 persons. She was living in 1814 at the Town of York, Home District, Upper Canada. Her household is listed thus: 2 females over 16, for a total of 3 persons. Obviously, this is in error or someone was missed in transcribing the book. She was living in 1818 at the Town of York, Home District, Upper Canada. Her household is listed thus: 1 male over 16, 1 female over 16, for a total of 2 persons. She was living in 1819 at the Town of York, Home District, Upper Canada. Her household is listed thus: 2 males over 16, 2 males under 16, for a total of 4 persons. This is obviouly another error.
