Thomas Hale was born on Friday, 16 June 1606 at Watton-at-Stone, Hertfordshire, England. He and Thomasine Dowsett, daughter of Gabriel Dowsett, were married on Saturday, 11 December 1632 at St. Helen's, Bishopsgate, London, Middlesex Co., England. The licence was issued December 10, 1632.
He sold land to Joseph Carter, 52½ acres at end of Newbury town upon "Merrimack Ridg" on 27 November 1640. He sold land on 2 November 1647 to John Pike, Jr., of Newbury, 4 acres in Newbury. He sold to James Jackman of Newbury, 12 acres marsh and 24 acres upland on Newbury Neck on 1 June 1648. He sold land to John Pike, Jr, 3 acres on south side of neck on 18 March 1650 at Newbury, Essex Co., Massachusetts, USA. He sold land to Henry Somerby of Newbury, 6 acres in Little Pine Island marsh on 17 May 1650 at Newbury, Essex Co., Massachusetts, USA. He received land on 12 November 1650 at Newbury, Essex Co., Massachusetts, USA, from the town, grant of 10 acres of marsh. He purchased land on 6 April 1651 at Newbury, Essex Co., Massachusetts, USA, from the town, 6 acres of marsh adjoining the above acreage. He exchanged land with Stephen Kent, his house and lands in Haverhill and received from him house and lands in Newbury, about 70 acres of upland, meadow and salt marsh, and 10 acres adjoining of salt marsh on 15 January 1652. He purchased land on 4 April 1655 from John Tillotson, house and messuage, of about 13 acres of upland and 10 acres of "Divident", and 5 acres of salt marsh at Newbury, Essex Co., Massachusetts, USA. He sold land to Joseph Muzzy, of Newbury, house and 6¾ acres of and and 7½ acres of marsh on 3 March 1656/57 at Newbury, Essex Co., Massachusetts, USA. He purchased land on 28 January 1658 of John Smith of Salem, house and land, 1 acre at Salem, Essex Co., Massachusetts, USA. He sold land on 10 March 1658/59 the property bought from John Smith, to Thos. West, planter at Salem, Essex Co., Massachusetts, USA. He purchased land on 8 June 1659 from Thomas Tuck and Jos. Harris, 4 acres in the north neck at Salem, Essex Co., Massachusetts, USA. He sold land on 30 December 1659 the 4 acres in the north neck, (bought from T. Tuck and J.
